Our Take
The BoardWalk Inn is a resort that's genuinely fantastic for certain types of travelers โ and only pretty good for families with toddlers. We'll be honest: if your primary focus is maximizing your young child's Disney magic, there are better choices. But BoardWalk has real strengths, and it ranks on our list for good reason.
The entertainment boardwalk โ restaurants, bars, street performers, a dueling pianos venue โ is unique on Disney property. It feels like Atlantic City circa 1930, and it's genuinely enjoyable for adults. Evening strolls along the boardwalk are a legitimate highlight.
EPCOT walkability (same as Beach Club โ 5-7 minutes) is excellent. Skyliner access to Hollywood Studios adds a second park to the walkable range.
The Pool
Luna Park Pool features a vintage carnival clown slide, and it's fun but smaller than Stormalong Bay at Beach Club. There's no zero-entry for very young toddlers. Our 2-year-old could use the kiddie area but wasn't as thoroughly entertained as at other resort pools.
If you're choosing between BoardWalk and Beach Club primarily for pool access, Beach Club wins clearly.
Noise Consideration
The entertainment district operates until 2am on weekends. If your toddler is a light sleeper or you're in a boardwalk-facing room, this can be an issue. Request a courtyard-facing room if you book here.
What BoardWalk Does Best
The atmosphere. Walking the boardwalk at dusk, watching street performers, getting a funnel cake, maybe catching some live music โ it's a genuinely unique Disney experience that you can't replicate elsewhere on property.
For grandparents who enjoy evening entertainment and don't need a 9pm bedtime, BoardWalk is actually excellent.
Dining
Flying Fish is upscale and excellent โ one of the better table-service options in this area of property. The ESPN Club is good for sports fans. The BoardWalk itself has plenty of casual dining and snack options.
Our Honest Verdict
BoardWalk is our #6 ranked resort โ not because it's bad, but because the alternatives offer more for toddler-specific travel. If you're coming back for a second or third Disney trip and want something different, or if your party has a mix of adults who appreciate evening entertainment, BoardWalk earns a strong look.
